She's with Grandma

Day 5
I went in to Hillsboro today to have lunch with mom and Grandma and drop Ash with Josh's Mom here grandma Mary.
I can't believe that she is gone to her grandma's house already it really feels like she just got here. She was such a good baby and my family loved having her here. I think we are going to be just fine when our new baby comes.

Day 4
We went to Costco today with out any problems and as a treat we had bean burritos for lunch. I didn't know how Ash would do with that but to my surprise she Loved them, I wish my kids would eat that good.

After our nap we went to see Jeff at work but the whole office was crazy so we stayed in the car and he came out to us after that we went to the park and carousel. Then We went home for dinner.

Day 3
We went to our ante Amy's house today and played with our cousins all day it was glorious.
Amy and I where able to work on our sharing time lessons and the kids all stayed happy. Kinz did have to watch them for us when we needed to make copies but she is such a good kid she didn't complain at all.

Day 2
Today was not good, Ashlynn was not happy at all today. I had that she was teething but now I think it was more that she was missing her mommy and daddy. We even tried to go to the carousel but nothing made poor Ash very happy today.

Day 1

We have pancakes on Sunday mornings. I think Ash likes them.

Today was our first day with Ashlynn. She is such a good baby and no trouble at all. Jeff asked me at one point what was wrong with our kids that they can't just play quietly like she does. My kids just love her and call her little one (Hi little one. Do you need something little one. Let me get that for you little one.) I've told them she's not a little baby, but they don't listen to me.
Ashlynn and I went to church this morning and she sang with every hymn in sacrament and she sang along with the bigger kids in primary. She was a lot easier than my kids at church, but with them it's two to one.
After dinner we went for a drive and Ash started to fuss a little and Ainsley just kept singing her a song that she likes about baby bugs or something. It didn't help, but she never stopped trying.

Schultz Philosophy

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schultz,
the creator of the 'Peanuts' comic strip. You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just read the e-mail straight through, and you'll get the point.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.

3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America.

4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.

6. Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten. Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.

2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.

3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.

4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.

5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with
.
Easier?

The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones who care
.

"Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia!"
(Charles Schultz)

New old beds

After all this time we were able to get bunk beds for the kids room at the coast and bring the old twin bed home for Jackson.
I'm a little embarrassed to admit that he has been in a toddler bed all this time and Ainsley has been in a crib not even a real crib but a port-a-crib, poor baby.
So any way here are some pics of my sweet angels sleeping in their new old beds

I feel you mama bird.

I was just looking out the window at some birds in the yard. They were Starlings and under normal circumstances I would have tuned the dogs out on them. But today I watched them for a while first.
It was a mama bird and her two baby birds. The mama bird was looking for some food for her babies in the grass. She was walking around probing the ground for worms and every time she put her heed down those two little monsters would come over and pick her in the back of the head. As if to say your not doing it fast enough or good enough or if dad was here he could do it better.
The feeling that I am being picked to death be my off spring is some thing I know all to well, so you keep your head up mama birds.

LOOKING BACK

---If you could go back and tell your teenage self one thing, what would it be?
Stop trying so hard you're a lot cooler than you think and any one that doesn't think so isn't worth your time.

----Did you do any extra curricular activities in high school?
Oh yes. I was one of those drama kids, not the really weird drama kids but i was in drama and loved it.

----What did you do with your free time?
Worked at Annie's and Target. But if I wasn't working I was at Tommy T's playing pool, at the lake swimming on watching my boy friends lame band. They sucked.

----Coolest thing you did as a teenager.
The summer I stayed in La Grand was pretty cool. I got to hang with my uncle Jason and his friends, swim at the ravine, go down town, and spending the weekend with my grandma in Mt. Vernen.

----Did you have a boyfriend in high school?
Most of the time it was the same boy. But we broke up a lot and dated a lot of other people.

----Songs that come to mind.
A lot of 2 Pac, Areosmith, Boys II Men, Meatloaf and the Adam Sandler CD. We were diverse.

----If you could change one thing, what would it be?
I would have gone to Hilhi from the start. Best year of high school ever.

----What did you think you would be when you grew up?
I wanted to Act. I don't think I ever thought I would be famous, but in high school that's all I wanted to do.

----Craziest thing you did in high school?
I think the things I did were just about crazy all the time and most of it is not appropriate for the family Blog.

I tag all those interested.

Our Day With the Best President in Modern History

President Clinton and Chelsie were in Salem this afternoon for a Hillary Clinton rally at Riverfront Park. They were introduced by Governor Kulongoski. Love Bill or hate him, he is one of the most charismatic speakers of our time. The current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue can't hold a candle to any of the Clinton's when it comes to public speaking. Hell, my 5 year old is a better public speaker than "W".

The above statement was all Jeff. Here are Leanna's thoughts. I don't think I disagreed with anything President Clinton had to say and I was particularly moved by his concerns regarding the welfare of our veterans (those homeless Vietnam vets, as well as those coming home from Iraq). He reminded us it was our responsibility to take care of those who put their lives on the line to defend our country and stressed how much more needs to be done to fulfill our responsibilities to those individuals.

The first all electric sports car.

Those first two don't count.

I know that it sounds weird, but Jackson has lost his first tooth. It started wiggling about a week ago and his Uncle Richard tried to get Jackson to let him pull it last Thursday, but that wasn't going to happen. Jackson pulled it himself this evening and I've never seen him more proud.

She named her baby.

Ainsley has always called her baby doll Big Baby. So imagine my surprise when she stated calling her a name we all know and love.

My Mom

I wish I had more time, but, as you know, we were camping all weekend and we had a lot of fun with you, Dad and Grandma. I can't wait for the next time we can all go camping together.

My mom is a "give them boundaries, but don't smother them" kind of mom. She was always there if we needed her, but never right on top of us. She's a let them work it out mom As long as no one is killing anyone else, they will work it out. A you do chores cause you live here mom. It's part of being a family, not something you get paid for. I'm so with her on that. Every time you leave the house, she would say, "Remember who you are" and the smart @$$ kid I was would say "I am Leanna Aileen. I live at --- -- ----- " and she would alway smile as if to say you know what I meant. She went back to school bought her own business and she was still always there. I would have never known she was gone if someone didn't tell me. I think she did it all at night. Even when money was tight, we always had food and we never had to move or sell the house. That was a wonderful thing they did for us and it created such a stable and secure home in an unstable time. I'm the one that got all your weird quirks so you know that I love you or I wouldn't love myself and we all know that's not a problem for me.
You are a wonderful mother and role model and we know how lucky we are to have you.
THANKS FOR EVERYTHING MOM!

Top Ten Tuesday

I will not be participating in this weeks top ten. I know that he provides for us, but that's not what we are talking about here now is it? Aside from the occasional doctors appointment or girls night out, I think I'm just fine thanks. And quit frankly I can always get a baby sitter if I need one. I need him. I love him. But there is no kind of dependents. And I'm not saying that his not a dependable guy, I'm just me and I am too stubborn to ask for the help I might need.

My Baby Shower

The shower was on Saturday and every thing was great. My sisters always do such a good job at that kind of thing and once again they did not disappoint.
Mom, Grandma, Jenny and Amy all arrived at my house that morning and cleaned for me right up until 2 when people started showing up. It has never looked better and to my amazement the house still looks good.
It was great there were only 8 ladies there, so it was small enough that you didn't feel like anyone was being neglected.
For me this is always a good thing, I can make myself crazy running from guest to guest.

Amy's cake made of diapers. Which I think was adorable.

The cake I made to look like a diaper. Not bad I think for my first try.

And this little man is my best friend Carrie's baby David. Isn't He just the most handsome thing you have ever see. I could just kiss his face right off.

A cake for Grandma.

As you know Jeff and the kids went to the coast last night to give me time to get the house ready for the baby shower. But it was also Jeff's Grandma's birthday so they all had lunch out and had a fun day with Grandma. I made a cake for her and Jeff was able to take it with him.

My baby misses me.

Jeff and the kids left me and went to the coast so I would be able to get the house ready for my baby shower. I didn't know what to do or where to start so I went to the church to help with a wedding reception instead and that was fun. So when Jeff called to have the kids say good night Ainsley told me "Mama I drawed a piter of you . You have a hed and ams but no eyes." Jeff was kind enough to send me the picture.

I think she misses me.
