Fauxhawk anyone????

Auntie Amy was asking for pictures of Emers so here are some I took just this evening. I was just trying to demonstrate how much hair she has. My other kids didn't have that much till after they were one.

I LOVE POE!

Annabel Lee

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea:
But we loved with a love that was more than love--
I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her high-born kinsman came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.

The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Went on envying her and me--
Yes!--that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we--
Of many far wiser than we--
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee.

For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise, but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling--my darling--my life and my bride,
In the sepulchre there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

No one can make necrophilia sound romantic like Edgar Allan Poe.

Time Warp

My Great Uncle Pete passed away last week so I made the trek out to LaGrande with my parents Sunday for the service Monday and then home right after. Of course I dragged my kids but they were so good for me the whole time or at least that's what I thought. Mom, Dad were they good?

Uncle Pete had served in the military in his younger years so of course he was given a full military funeral. I don't know if its just me but I have always appreciated the poetic nature of a military service with the Veterans and their guns. Its sad but beautiful at the same time. It stirs such strong emotions of patriotism.

I appriciate the opportunity to see my cousins even if it was for such sad circumstances. It made me think that I need to make more of an effort to get out to that part of the state more often. I Love my great Aunt and Uncles that are still living in that little town and I want to see them. I wish I could just move closer or kidnap them for a week or two every so often.
This is my Aunt Emmegean
(Uncle Petes wife and My Granddad's little sister)
She is one of the sweetest ladies you will ever meet.
This is Dodie my Granddad's wife and my uncle Jason's mom.

The trip over wasn't so bad either. We took my car so everyone could fit and my Dad drove. I called Jeff to ask which station on XM was classic country and off we went. Down that same old highway, sitting in the same spot, listening to the same music and looking out at the world as if I had gone back in time and could have. The river and the gorge are timeless that way. I can't help but think that it would even look the same to the pioneers.
Yes the backs of the heads I was looking at in the front seat were a lot more gray than before but it was a lot like time stopped 20 years ago. The only thing that was missing was my sisters and brother all trying to kill each other and or sing along with the stereo. But my kids did their best to fill that void.
I seriously don't know what it is about that drive and that town. But I am never any older than 16 when I'm there And I miss it again already.

Just another Weekend at the Coast

This rainbow followed us from just north of Tillamook to Wheller. It was bright and most of the time a full arch. One of the things that made it so neat was that because of the mist some of the time it looked like you were driving in it and it was all around you.

Jeff and I were checking out the Nahalem bay state park for a potential 2012 Reunion site and ran into this little guy. Any place that the deer eat out of your hand is going to be high on my list.

And after daddy left we headed down to the beach for some fun in the sun. It was nearly 60 degrees and almost no wind. So Yes fabulous.

Primary Activity

Just some pictures from My first primary activity. By first I mean the first one that I was in charge of running and it turned out great if I do say so myself. I don't think I'm at the point of giving advice but if any of you ladies that are in the primary need ideas or want too share some with me for my next one we should chat.

Kelly Wins - It is a perfume bottle!

Good job everyone. You all had such good guesses.
Thank you for playing and I promise next week's will be super easy.

For Daddy

After last year and the new center stone for my wedding ring we decided that this Valentine's Day stuff was getting out of control and this year we were just giving each other cards.
Me being the person that I am, that was just not going to be enough and I needed to do more.
So after Ainsley came home from church with this last Sunday, I thought "what a good idea for Jeff and he can eat it too."
At the Dollar Tree you can get these items for less than the price of a card anywhere else.

And as Ainsley will dimanstrat even a chiled can do it.

Beautiful and edible. What more could a man want?

Thank you to Ainsley's Sunday School teacher for the inspiration.

Monday Mystery Picture

So my sister and I have been talking about doing this since Thanksgiving. You know just something fun for us bored house wives and the worker bees that sneak a peek on their lunch hours.
Here's how the game will go I (or anyone that wants to) will post a picture and you get to guess what it is. If someone guesses correctly, I'll post a picture that fully reveals the mystery item. And if it doesn't catch on in a few weeks,
then I'll just take my game and go home.

OH MY GOSh......Same Same

I have never argued with the fact that my son looks like me. I am a year or two older then he is in this picture, but you can just see what he will look like in in the 2nd grade. Just about the time he gets in to the skinny weird looking phase

Oh Canada

I know that this is going to be a lot to take in all at one time, but I haven't really had the time to get to this until now and I didn't want to keep you all waiting any longer.

Day #1
All we did on Sunday was hang around the condo and watch the BIG game.
Day #2
We dropped the Kids off at 9:00am for the ski school and didn't see them again till 3:00pm. This was just heavenly. We went out to breakfast then we walked around the village and went into the galleries that I love without the destructive bigger kids.

Here are some pictures of the kids at Whistler Kids (the ski school)
My little pink angel is on the right. They were making this big guy when I came back that afternoon to get them.
This is her again on the last trip down of the day.

This is Jackson on his last run. Doesn't he have great form? I think that even Uncle Brad would be proud.

I think he's ready to go up on the mountain with his Dad.

Hi Mommy!

CHEEAASSE

After a long day out in the snow, it's time for a dip in the pool

I think maybe it was a long day for Ainsley. She didn't even get started on her salad.
Day #3
We went out to the rec center for some skating.
I would like to point out the fact that he is trying really hard to skate on single blades. At one point he threw his handle bars aside and took off across the ice. He got about two yards and landed on his face, but he's ok and he'll do better next time.

Don't get the wrong impression from this picture. Jeff's not just being a good daddy. He is, but he cannot skate so he needs to hold onto something. The baby is just a good cover.

I'll post the video of Ainsley's triple axel soon. It's good stuff
Day #4
It was our last day in Whistler, so we headed up to the tube park and had a good old time.

This isn't even half way up

She had the best time

The boys
That's all. It was a quick trip, but we all had a good time.
